Hourglass, HG III, Napa Valley

Smooth and elegant with lots of dark fruit character. The Merlot-forward style makes it very approachable. Great for both everyday drinking and special occasions.

Best value in my cellar right now. Competes with wines at twice the price. Blackberry, cassis, chocolate, leather - everything you want in a Napa red. Tony Biagi knows what he's doing!

It's fine but I expected more from Hourglass. The oak is a bit dominant for my taste and the tannins are quite firm. Maybe needs more time to develop? Will try again in a year.
